Powering through the Pandemic: One Glam Day at a Time

In 2019, Michelle Takijima opened the first Tokyo Glam in Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

She had a vision of bringing the splendor of authentic Japanese nail and lash care to the Philippines. The 12 seat lounge was fitted with furniture and products sourced from Japan to ensure quality.

Ms. Takijima even flew lash and nail experts from the Japan Institute to train her Filipino technicians.

Her focus on quality control ensures each customer would feel the luxury of real Japanese lash and nail services, coupled with Filipino spirit.

When 2020 rolled in, the pandemic had businesses face unexpected challenges, especially Tokyo Glam, which was not allowed to operate for months along with other recreational salons.

However, the resilience and quality of Tokyo Glam speaks for itself as hundreds of loyal Glam Queens wait for salon doors to open or opt for Safe Home Service to get their much-needed pamper sesh.

Since its opening, Tokyo Glam has had an impressive roster of Celebrity endorsers to back up its incredible dedication to nails and lash excellence. Celebrity Glam Queens include Julia Montes, Sofia Andres, Janella Salvador, Ruffa Gutierrez, Small Laude, and Kylie Versoza to name a few.

Within 2 years, Michelle Takijima was able to open her 2nd branch in South of Market, BGC.

During the second wave of enhanced community quarantine, Tokyo Glam was not fazed as support continued to pour in from Glam Queens all around the Metro.

Now, she proudly introduced a brand new way to Glam up your day: Tokyo Glam Facial!

You can get your lashes, nails, and skin pampered all in one day. It’s the ultimate treat for the hardworking Filipina Glam Queen.
